Creative Writing Classes for Kids
Live one-on-one creative writing coaching for Grades 2–8, built on stories your child picks. Each term ends in a Showcase. Your child writes a story, an explainer or a case, and performs it in your presence.

Creative Writing With a Point
Reading and writing at grade level is the starting line.
What sets a child apart is being heard: speaking up, writing with a point, holding the floor.
Built to Be Heard
The goal is a child who speaks up, explains clearly and can make a case, on the page and out loud.
Organized Writing
From one complete paragraph in Grade 2 to a multi-paragraph piece, written and delivered, by Grade 5.
Structured Writing
Cited explainers and arguments with a clear opening, body and ending.
Speak and Write
Your child listens, reads, speaks and writes about the same story, all as one experience.
Three Terms. One Coach. A Showcase Every Term.
Creative writing that describes, explains and persuades, with a clear point.
Term 1 · Storytelling
Telling a story well: your child reads a story closely, then retells it and writes one of their own. Ends in a Showcase: a story, told live.
Term 2 · Explaining
Explaining clearly: true stories and real topics, explained in their own words. Ends in a Showcase: an explainer, presented.
Term 3 · Persuading (Arguing in Grades 6–8)
Making a case: an opinion with reasons in Grades 2–5, and a full argument that answers the other side in Grades 6–8. Ends in a Showcase: a case, argued.
Creative Writing, Grade by Grade
What your child writes in Term 1, Storytelling, at each grade.

Explore Grade 6 →7th Grade

Explore Grade 7 →8th Grade

Questions About Creative Writing Classes
What will my child learn across the year?
The year runs in three terms: Term 1 Storytelling, Term 2 Explaining and Term 3 Persuading (Arguing in Grades 6–8). Each term ends in a Showcase your child writes and performs in your presence. Each term also has a mid-term and an end-of-term assessment, each with a detailed report. Each level is harder than the last, and the difficulty climbs term by term and grade by grade.
What does a class look like?
Live, online and one-on-one with the same coach all term. Your child picks the stories they want to do in each class, then listens, reads, learns words in context, speaks and writes about them.
Is this homework help or exam prep?
Neither. Cueword is a communication program, built around stories your child picks. It builds how your child listens, reads, speaks and writes, which shows up everywhere.
How many kids are in a class?
Just your child. Every class is one-on-one with the coach, including the Showcase at the end of each term. Not a small group that's called 1:1.
What if my child has gaps from earlier grades?
That's common. If the evaluation or coach spots a gap, the coach fills it with foundation lessons within your 26 classes a term, with no extra classes to book.
How do we get started?
Book a free Cueword evaluation: 50 minutes, one-on-one, a dialogue, not a test. You get the Cueword Report and a recommended plan the same day.
