Middle School English Classes: Writing, Speaking & Argument
Speak up. Back it up. Head into high school ready. Our Grades 6–8 live classes build the skills middle school asks for: explaining clearly, arguing a point and writing with structure.

Why Grades 6–8 Matter for Communication
Middle school is when kids are asked to explain, argue and present, not just answer.
Here is what we work on.
Citing the Evidence
Backing every reading with evidence, and judging whether a source holds up.
Arguing a Case
Taking a position, backing it with reasons and evidence, and answering the other side.
Structured Writing
Cited explainers and arguments with a clear opening, body and ending.
Presenting
Delivering their own work with confidence at the live Showcase each term.

Questions About Grades 6–8
What does Cueword focus on in Grades 6–8?
Citing evidence, judging a source, explaining ideas clearly, taking and defending a position, structured writing and presenting. All of it is built on stories your child picks, with all five skills in every class.
What if my child has gaps from earlier grades?
That's common. If the evaluation or coach spots a gap, the coach fills it with foundation lessons within your 26 classes a term, with no extra classes to book.
What is the class format for Grades 6–8?
Live, online and one-on-one: two 55-minute classes a week with the same coach, on the Standard plan. Basic (40-minute classes) is for Grades 2–5 only.
How will I see progress?
After every class, the coach sends a class summary in the Cueword Parent app. You also meet the coach twice a term, and get a report after each mid-term and end-of-term assessment. Each term ends in a Showcase in your presence.
Is this homework help or test prep?
No. Cueword is a communication program. It isn't homework help or exam prep.
