Elementary English Classes for Grades 2–5
Find their voice. Enter middle school confident. Our Grades 2–5 live classes help your child read, listen, speak and write, built on stories they pick.

Why Grades 2–5 Matter for Communication
This is when kids move from learning to read to reading to learn.
They also start being asked to speak and write about what they read.
Here is what we work on.
Finding the Main Idea
Holding on to what a story is really about, and telling it back in order.
Proving It From the Text
Pointing to the line that proves an answer, instead of guessing.
Saying It Out Loud
Explaining their thinking in full sentences, with reasons, to a real person.
Organized Writing
From one complete paragraph in Grade 2 to a multi-paragraph piece, written and delivered, by Grade 5.

Questions About Grades 2–5
How will Cueword help my child communicate better in Grades 2–5?
Every class is built around stories your child picks, with all five skills in every class. For Grades 2–5 we focus on finding the main idea, answering from the text, putting it in their own words, and writing that's organized.
How will I see progress?
After every class, the coach sends a class summary in the Cueword Parent app. You also meet the coach twice a term, and get a report after each mid-term and end-of-term assessment. Each term ends in a Showcase in your presence.
What English skills are covered in Grades 2–5?
All five skills: listening, reading, speaking, writing and vocabulary. The year has three terms, pitched at your child's grade: Storytelling, then Explaining, then Persuading. Each term ends in a Showcase.
What if my child has gaps from earlier grades?
That's common. If the evaluation or coach spots a gap, the coach fills it with foundation lessons within your 26 classes a term, with no extra classes to book.
Is Grades 2–5 the right time to start Cueword?
In Grades 2–5, kids start being asked to explain what they read, speak in front of others and write longer pieces. That makes it a good time to build the habit. Grades 2–8 are all enrolling now.
Is this homework help or test prep?
No. Cueword is a communication program. It isn't homework help or exam prep. It builds how your child listens, reads, speaks and writes, which shows up everywhere.
How do we get started?
Book a free Cueword evaluation: 50 minutes, one-on-one, a dialogue, not a test. You get the Cueword Report and a recommended plan the same day.
